Turn Back Time With Skin Lighteners

There are many skin lighteners on the market but they all use three basic ingredients.  When shopping for and comparing skin lighteners keep these facts in mind.  One of the three ingredients works in a different way.

The most common ingredient in skin lighteners is Hydroquinone.  This is the one most recommended by health spas.  Skin lighteners with Hydroquinone are known to be effective.  It is a very popular choice and easily found in any drugstore.  Over the counter skin lighteners will contain no more than 2% of this ingredient.

Another effective skin lightener ingredient is N-acetyl glucosamine.  This ingredient has been shown in clinical trials as effective.  Clinical trials are also starting to show promise for other benefits of this product as well.  Initial results from testing are showing this agent as reducing melanin and increasing collagen among other things.

The final two ingredients common to skin lightener perform the same action.  Kojic acid and alpha-arbutin both block the aforementioned melanin.  Though laboratory testing proved this to be true, clinical trials on human subjects has yet to be done.  Nevertheless, it is very popular as an effective skin lightener.

Care needs to be taken where skin lighteners are concerned.  As with any product, read all instructions and ingredients before purchasing.  Certain skin types should pay special attention to ingredients.  Ask your doctor before you shop which skin lightener will be right for your skin.  All of the companies that sell skin lighteners have ample information available for the consumer.  Some skin lighteners can be used every day while others are used less often.  Other considerations may be aroma and how the skin lightener feels when applied.  Some of the skin lighteners available have a very light feel to them.  Your skin will know.  Add to this that there are skin lighteners available for sensitive skin and you can see that there are a whole range of options for you to consider.
